Dallas, TX – November 13, 2018 Union Gospel Mission (UGM) Dallas held their 69th Annual Thanksgiving & Praise Banquet on Saturday, November 3, 2018. UGM Dallas hosts the gala every year during the holiday season as a way to say thank you to the many volunteers, donors, and staff who have gone above and beyond to support the mission aimed at supporting and transforming individuals and families who are homeless and in need of shelter and jobs.
This year’s banquet, entitled “Radical Love,” was hosted by Bent Tree Bible Fellowship with Mr. Bruce Butler, UMG Dallas CEO, acting as the Master of Ceremonies. The program opened with music by the Northside Bible Church, conducted by Jolie Bailey. Pastor Ken Fifer, Missions Pastor from Bent Tree Bible Fellowship, welcomed everyone with a reminder of the importance of each donor, volunteer and staff member and the difference they make in the life of each person who walks through the doors of UGM Dallas.
During the course of the program guests enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner provided by Preston Hollow Catering, recognition of community leaders and music performed by Joy Webb, a graduate of Center of Hope. Inspiring testimonies from individuals whose lives have been transformed at UGM Dallas were at the heart of the evening’s program. Guests were delighted by country music artist, speaker and writer, Mary James, who is also a four time Female Vocalist of the Year Winner. UGM Children’s Choir brought the inspirational evening to a close with the well known song “Jesus Loves Me.” This song reflects the heart of UGM Dallas – God’s love changes lives. Mr. Bruce Butler stated, “Our annual praise banquet is a great time to share our sincere gratitude for the time , prayer and donations made to our organization. It also allows us to share with others what the Lord is doing in and through UGM Dallas.”
