Dallas, TX – July 3, 2019 The Union Gospel Mission (UGM) Dallas has named Shawn and Christine Grigsby as their June Volunteers of the Month. Both Shawn and Christine view volunteering at the Mission as a calling and a ministry. They continually offer hope and healing to residents by being cheerleaders to those in the Discipleship program and encouraging their spiritual growth. Not only are they serving those in the Discipleship program, but they also go above and beyond lending support to residents of the Women & Children’s Shelter, serving in the kitchen and wherever their God-given talents are needed. Shawn and Christine demonstrate God’s love in so many ways and always with a willing heart and a smile. Click for Photo
According to Mr. Bruce Butler, CEO of Union Gospel Mission Dallas, “ Shawn and Christine Grigsby are wonderful examples of volunteers who make a difference every day in the lives of our residents who so desperately need to be loved and cared about. Each demonstrates God’s love in a very real and tangible way. We are honored to have them as volunteers and friends of the Mission.” As a token of appreciation, they will receive a gift card for $50.00 from Texas de Brazil.

About UGM Dallas
Established in 1949, Union Gospel Mission Dallas (the Mission) has been restoring lives through the word of Jesus Christ. This faith-based nonprofit organization supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness with shelter, food and clothing, as well as a Discipleship and recovery program, vocational job training and development, state-licensed child care services, medical care, transportation, substance abuse prevention, and transitional and permanent housing.
In 2018, the Mission assisted individuals in Dallas County by providing more than 188,026 nights of shelter and serving 582,433 meals. UGM Dallas also houses 181 veterans in our men’s shelter each month who were previously homeless. Forty-five percent of the clients who received services from UGM Dallas were first-time clients. These men, women and children represent the living, breathing embodiment of the grace of change, and the Mission is committed to doing everything possible to transform lives and end homelessness one person at a time.
